We designed the IBM Plex typeface carefully to both meet our needs as a global tech company and express who we are as IBMers. It took two years and a lot of work to get here, but today we have a signature typeface we’re proud and excited to share with the world.
IBM Plex 字體是一個開源項目，可按照 Open Font License (OFL) 下載和使用。IBM Plex 系列有 Sans、Serif、Mono 和 Sans Condensed，全部帶有羅馬和真正的斜體。這些字體被設計為在用戶界面 (UI) 環境以及其他媒體中運行良好。該項目提供所有源文件和文件格式以支持大多數印刷情況。目前，IBM Plex Sans 支持擴展拉丁文、阿拉伯文、西里爾文、梵文、希臘文、希伯來文、日文、韓文和泰文。中文將在2022年跟進。
The IBM Plex typeface is an open-source project and available for download and use following the Open Font License (OFL). The IBM Plex family comes in Sans, Serif, Mono and Sans Condensed, all with roman and true italics. The fonts have been designed to work well in user interface (UI) environments, as well as other mediums. This project provides all source files and file formats to support most typographical situations. Currently, IBM Plex Sans supports Extended Latin, Arabic, Cyrillic, Devanagari, Greek, Hebrew, Japanese, Korean and Thai. Chinese will follow in 2022.

IBM Plex Family 有三大字體類型：Sans-serif（無襯線體）、Serif（襯線體）和 Mono（等寬字體），每種類別有八種不同字重：Thin、ExtraLight、Light、Text、Regular、Medium、Bold、SemiBold，也有為斜體設計的 Italic 系列。
另外 IBM Plex 收錄的字型檔案為 Windows 和 Mac 適用的 .ttf 和 .otf 格式，也附帶 Sketch App 檔案，若使用者要應用於網頁字型，IBM Plex 也提供網頁字型 .eot、.woff 和 .woff2 格式，基本完整照顧到了所有人的需求。
本字體以SIL Open Font License 1.1（SIL 開源字型授權版本1.1，簡稱SIL OFL 或OFL）授權協議發佈，這個授權的自由度非常高：
✔ 這款字體無論是個人還是企業都可以自由免費商用，也無需知會或者標明原作者。
✔ 這款字體可以自由傳播、分享，或者將字體安裝於系統、軟件或APP中也是允許的，可以與任何軟件捆綁再分發以及／或一併銷售。
✔ 這款字體可以自由修改、改造。但修改或改造後的字體也必須同樣以SIL Open Font License 1.1授權公開。
✘ 這款字體禁止用於違法行為，如因使用這款字體產生糾紛或法律訴訟，作者不承擔任何責任。
✘ 根據SIL Open Font License 1.1的規定，禁止單獨出售字體文件(OTF/TTF文件)的行為。
